I once read a book that was teaching Jewish values, the values that made so many Jews wealthy, so many Jews high achievers, so many Jews mensch, which is Yiddish for a righteous human being.
This article is about stealing a Jewish custom, that looks silly to steal, yet, unbeknownst to Jews made them special and specially favored, judged by all the achievements: and that is the custom of wearing a skullcap, also called yarmulka or kipa.

I had a real transformation a few years ago, but because it disappeared stuff, I am just noticing.
When anger disappears, you barely notice it.
I used to be an angry person. You wouldn't know it, because for reasons of my own I suppressed my anger.
Anger not expressed cripples you. But expressing anger can be dangerous: you need to be out of control, or so it seems.

Thanksgiving: a time to give thanks. But to who? For What? Mundane or Significant? Habit and Duty or Privilege?
In searching what I am really thankful for, I went through all the things I could be thankful for.
The air I breathe? the fact that I woke up this morning? the sunshine on this winter day on my window... hey it's so strong I had to lower the blinds! lol
Or the roasted beet salad with goat cheese (yumm) I am making as part of Thanksgiving dinner?

What is Soul? I don't know. Although I know a lot about Soul, I don't know what Soul is... as much as I don't know what Source is.
In the Old Testament the word "know" had no intellectual knowledge meaning: it actually meant "get intimate with." Sexually, or otherwise.
You get intimate with a jacket by trying it on and wearing it for a while. Same with a pair of shoes.
Intellectual knowledge is not knowing, it's knowing about: a world of difference.

Grieving The Loss Of A Child... Whether They Died Or Just Gone to Live Their Own Life
No matter how you slice it, a big change like this, even if it is the best of the child, is a huge trauma for the parent, especially the mother.
Most mothers are programmed to care for their young ones, but while they are doing that, they forget to be themselves, forget to rebuild a life of their own, so when the child dies, or leaves, they are left with nothing.
I have a student whose children live in other countries, you can't just offer to drop by, bring some good home-made cooking, or babysit their child while they attend to other things.
