Please pay attention: this is NOT my article, and the references to "I" and "me" are not mine, they are Alex Ferriera's... I am republishing these quotes because I want it to be an experiment... Clue is at the end of the article.
Motivation is as much of necessary habit as eating is. Constantly surround yourself with the correct inspiration and you are sure to expand your dreams. Here are some of my favorite quotes which remind me to keep progressing forward.
10. "To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong."
To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.
The fear of being wrong is often seen as the most inhibiting factor of unsuccessful people. One cannot hope to succeed let alone do anything if they are not willing to overcome their fear of being wrong. Have faith in yourself and your ideas.
The greatest inventions of our time are the result of none other than persistence. These innovators realized that they can only accept failure if and only if ALL options have been completely and totally exhausted.
8. "Whenever you see a successful person you only see the public glories, never the private sacrifices to reach them."
Nothing comes without a payment of some sort. The people you see on T.V, for the most part, worked incredibly hard to get there. They worked on their craft and making a name for themselves until they MADE their own success. You must always be willing to put in more hours, take more steps, and grind harder then the other guy who is also trying to make his dreams a reality. It’s all a matter of who wants it more.
If you are afraid of losing what you have for what you could have then you will probably never make it to where you want to be. Some of the most successful people in the world got to where they are because they had no other choice. They risked everything and as a result didn’t accept failure as an answer.
Seriously. If you have ever told yourself "I can do that", then you probably can. The truth is, everyone has the potential for success in one form or another. It’s the decision to follow your passion which can turn potential into reality.
5. "There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed."
This realization will make all the difference in your mindset. Why are you listening to the people around you who may or may not be older on whether or not your idea is great? Or whether or not your going to be successful in whatever your doing? You are actually listening to advice from those who haven’t reached success themselves. If you are going to listen to anyone, make sure it’s the good guys who have already become successful. I bet they will tell you how many doubters they had to face.
If you are putting off something that you truly desire to do then you are effectively accepting the fact that you may never be able to do it. Life is not concrete. You must take advantage of every moment at hand and never give yourself the opportunity to regret what could have been.
3. "The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself."
Why are you settling? Don’t you want more? Travel the world? Experience more?
You are not stuck. Why is it that people who are born poor can make it to the top? Why is it that those with roots in the worst situations can prosper and succeed?
Because they all refuse to remain where they are. You have to be so set on being somewhere else, somewhere better, that you have no choice but to end up there.
2. "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."
If you want to be part of the one percent then you have to stop doing things like everyone else. There is a reason that 99% of people aren’t a part of that group and the longer you analyze why, the better you will understand the importance of thinking on your own.
This is something I am actively trying to overcome. If one is to find true success then they must have no way out. By giving yourself a way out you are actually doubting your ability to succeed. You must be willing to risk it all.
OK, now you probably feel warm and fuzzy inside. You nodded at least 10 times, and it feels that you have just made a few steps towards being that amazing human that you really are destined to be. Right?
And even if you only nodded a few times, after all, maybe you are not an entrepreneur, or you enjoy being with the majority, your best bet is to follow this link to read more about the inner dynamic that just happened.
I could write it up myself, really, but I want you to get a taste of Andy Shaw's writing, Andy Shaw of the Create A Bug Free Mind fame... Please. Whether you buy his book or not, I want you to be exposed to his style.
