Immersion

« Back to Glossary Index

Immersion is a learning modality.

The most used example is jacket shopping.

You go to the jacket store. There is a whole rack of jackets. The sales clerk suggests you try a jacket on.

Immersion would be that you actually put the jacket on, feel it, look at yourself, look at the world. Look how the world changes as you are wearing that new piece of clothing.

You can take off the jacket and put it back on the rack, or wear it for a while for size, for cut, for color… and see if you like the way the world looks and feels with the jacket on.

That is immersion.

What most people do is refuse to put on the jacket. They are afraid that they will be stuck with it. Instead they ask questions that will never give them an experience… only mind candy.
