Where did the inspiration go?

where did the inspiration goI wrote this yesterday asking myself: where did the inspiration go?

I know it’s Christmas morning and you want to open the presents and all that…

but I want to share with you what happened in my house… so you can learn. Instead of presents I got a few emails elves and elvettes? (is that the feminine form of elves?)

Talking about festivities, and holiday season, but no gifts. WTF?

And Spock like pointy ear musings about stuff… except no Christmas spirit.

Inspiration, it seems have gone away with the epidemic, and that is what i want to talk about in this email.

Where did the inspiration go? Continue reading “Where did the inspiration go?”

Frustrated? You are not in sync with Life

frustratedThe first fish that left the water realized that moving about with what it had. That first fish didn’t make itself wrong, didn’t make life wrong, wasn’t frustrated… instead it realized  walking with fins was too slow… so it started to realize it needed something that was more suitable for land… legs.  That is how it was in sync…

The fish used its fins until eventually they became legs… of course, over time… but you’ll get the lesson, how this applies to you, I hope.

This is how Life works, that is how evolution works. Until you introduce humans… that is. Continue reading “Frustrated? You are not in sync with Life”

Want to grow? Master outcome independence!

outcome independenceZen: Chop wood, carry water. An outcome independent series of actions. Outcome independence .

Western Culture: What is your why? Create big audacious goals, take bold actions…

One is outcome independent with an overarching goal of inner peace. Not now, not at this moment, but for life.

The other is outcome dependent, judging every step for the result it produced or not, resulting in misery. Continue reading “Want to grow? Master outcome independence!”

Are you trying to learn PhD level without having done kindergarten?

Before I buy something, a new tool, a nonfiction book, I muscletest if I should buy it.

In essence I ask Source a yes/no question. Shall I buy it?

I get a no answer more often than a yes. And then I ask some clarifying questions, one of them is: is it too advanced for me? More often than not the answer is yes.

Unless I have mastered, literally mastered the basics in that specific topic or discipline, Source will recommend that I don’t buy that course, tool, or book. Continue reading “Are you trying to learn PhD level without having done kindergarten?”

Practical Magic: Do away with depression…

Magic is, according to google: the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces

How does magic work: still from google: Magic creates a conflict between the things you think can happen and the things that you experience. While some magicians would like you to believe that they possess real magical powers, the true secret behind magic lies in clever psychological techniques that exploit limitations in the way our brains work.

Well, if you had a clever psychological technique that exploits limitations in the way our brains (mind) work, what would you change? What would you use it for?

It’s a great question, it has only one drawback:

We do have a clever psychological technique… Continue reading “Practical Magic: Do away with depression…”

How to make New Year’s Resolutions succeed? of how to unstuck yourself for good?

The goal of this article is to show you  why you haven’t been able to grow, and how to unstuck yourself: a new methodology.

The size of your projects is the size of your life. Your New Year’s resolution is a project. big or small shows the size of your life.

If you are not working on it, it is not a project. For it to be a project, you need to work on it. Otherwise it is just a fantasy.

The size of the people your project helps is the size of your world.

Giving away money that you didn’t earn isn’t a project.

Yesterday we had the 3-wishes workshop. It’s a fun little exercise. But we didn’t do it for fun. Most fun exercises have hidden huge learnings: about you, about the size of your world and the size of your life.

What does it have to do with a New year resolution? Patience, I’ll make them connect later. First you want to look at the ingredients… there are no jumps in reality, and when you jump, you do that in your imagination, and your results will be also in your imagination, not in reality… How is that for a learning, learning why your New Year Resolutions haven’t panned out thus far… You did jumps in it.

Projects are like building a ladder and climbing it to the fulfillment… not a jump. Continue reading “How to make New Year’s Resolutions succeed? of how to unstuck yourself for good?”

How you look at a thing makes all the difference

Sometimes I get up in the morning and then do maintenance stuff on my computer, of play Freecell, because there is nothing that is pressing me to write about.

As soon as I look at myself playing Freecell that it is a process I trust to bring up topics I could write about, within a game, 3-4 minutes, a whole topic emerges.

It was there, it just needed to be called.

Last Saturday I had a tech teacher of mine on my 3-wishes workshop. I invited him, I comped him in, and he came.

I treated him special, and he got to see something about himself that he can now deal with. He saw that his fixed way of being with nearly anything is that he is resentful… while he could be grateful. Continue reading “How you look at a thing makes all the difference”

What makes you should on yourself and others?

should racketWhat makes you should on yourself and others? The ‘should racket’, the invisible dynamic: you assume there is agreement, that things should be in a certain way

Joke: Why do violinists put a handkerchief between the violin and their shoulder? So they don’t violin on themselves…

Not many people play the violin, but we all should on ourselves. some more, some less.

I should already know it, I should already do it well

Some people can’t learn… and therefore they are stuck. We could even say: most people.

Let me ask Source how many. 70% of humanity has the affliction, the disease of the mind I highlight in the title of this article, I should already know it, I should already… [fill in the blanks]

Shoulding effectively prevents you from learning, let alone mastering anything. You are afraid to do anything in public, for fear of people finding out that you are not something enough to already be the best. Continue reading “What makes you should on yourself and others?”

You live in an illusion… like The Matrix… And you are not happy…

illusionIn a workshop yesterday we spent some time defining REALITY. what must be present, what checkboxes you must tick for what you see to be reality… and everything that is not reality is illusion.

It was a first for most people… Reality is one of those words: foggy, undefined… amorphous. In the Starting Point Measurements I measure to what degree you are accurate with your vocabulary, especially with words like ‘reality’. Most people are at or below 10% accuracy.

We came up with four criteria… and there could be more.

Reality:

1. collective: everyone should be able to see it
2. there is only one reality and it’s the same for everyone
3. reality doesn’t change over time. The interpretation may, but what happened happened. Continue reading “You live in an illusion… like The Matrix… And you are not happy…”

If I ever do that to you… shoot me. Please…

How do you know what is advising you to do something or another?

I am sitting here. My assistant is AWOL.

I imagine myself in his skin, in his head, to identify what’s happening, so either to have compassion, ruthless compassion, or straight anger as a reaction.

I get more than I have expected: I get an insight.

He, most likely, heard something. His mind said: ooh, ooh, yeah, that’s it! This is the solution to all my problems! I am going to do that! and with that he abandoned all his responsibilities, and ran for the low hanging fruit, or whatever it was that he saw in his mind’s eyes that can finally be his. Continue reading “If I ever do that to you… shoot me. Please…”
