What’s is it that if it were there life would be different?

What’s missing that if it were there life would be different? Your life, not all of life…

In yesterday’s article I said everyone has a keystone. A keystone that if you remove it, the whole arch, the whole construct of your life falls. The construct of the life you lead that is not going anywhere.

So I offered to muscletest that keystone for people.

I admit that first some of the results were unexpected. But after the result of the muscletest it was like ‘of course! that is what’s been missing!’

Self-control missing has been the most unexpected result.

Will you allow the learning to change who you are?

This is NOT a funny article… And actually I struggled mightily writing it… because it talks about something I have never been able to teach… Your beingness.

I am reading a book for the third time in a month. And I will read it again and again until I become who I want to become.

Some people read the words in a book. I read the spirit. I align my whole inside with it… if it is worth it.

And if it is worth it: it won’t happen at the first reading, the second reading, and probably NOT at the third reading either. So I read it until it happens.

The two reasons to read it are:

  • 1. to allow the material to change you, to change who you are
  • 2. all the other reasons people read for…

Distaste: the orienting feeling that you want to know

We all want to learn about ourselves… Knowledge is power. Understanding allows us to make sense of why things happen the way they do.

We are going to learn a new word that expresses a feeling that you have collapsed, you have confused with others… to end up with no clarity. There are about a thousand words in the English language like that.

Most of them are manipulated to misguide you.

One of the gems I’ve mined from the book ‘Feelings‘ is isolating a particular feeling, the orienting feeling of distaste. Continue reading “Distaste: the orienting feeling that you want to know”

Everybody wants to be special… But it’s a bad idea!

Santa Klaus’s name is Mikulás in Hungary, and of course Mikulas is Saint Nicholas, and his day is December 6. So today it is gift giving day in Hungary, mostly candy and nuts and red apples… as the song goes… in Hungarian.

When people come to me to have their food list muscletested, they rarely think that the food list will ask them to go back a couple of generations to a time when eating was different: you had to buy ice to have an icebox… You gave away half of your venison, or it would rot on you. You stored up goodwill for other times by sharing when it was plenty.

I am old enough to remember those times. Continue reading “Everybody wants to be special… But it’s a bad idea!”

The uncatchable ball… did you just let it slip away?

uncatchable ballWe are definitely dealing with something that feels like an uncatchable ball.

We find something and it turns out not to be THE BALL… and we need to go and find another ball to catch… but instead of being able to catch it, it slips out of our grasp.

Why are we even trying?

Because unless and until we catch it and have it in our grasp, firmly, our lives cannot change, our performance cannot change, we cannot really get to where we love ourselves, love our lives, and live it powerfully.

This uncatchable ball is small, slippery, and evasive.

And we want to catch it… If nothing else, I am tenacious… And so help me god, I’ll catch it. Identify it, if it takes me a hundred articles… I will. For you, and for me.

This article is an attempt to catch it… The next article is already written and will come out later today…

In life you get what you negotiate… or win…

In life you get what you negotiate. Not what you need. Not what you want. But what you successfully negotiate.

Some truths pop out when you least expect them.

None of my students know how to negotiate. My students are a microcosm… A mirror of the whole damn world. Continue reading “In life you get what you negotiate… or win…”

Reinventing yourself…. Can you do it? How to do it…

You are always, every moment, are on the verge of limbo or in limbo… so learning how to reinvent yourself to move out of limbo is a good skill to learn

But change, I teach, is not good. It is mostly fixing, and every change carries in itself the seed level of what you didn’t want, what you wanted to change.

So now what? Another way to have something more, better, or different is through reinventing yourself, reinventing your business, your job, your life… But can you do it? How do you do it? Continue reading “Reinventing yourself…. Can you do it? How to do it…”

Life is counter-intuitive to the human mind

People who make mistakes, people who show weaknesses are easier to love.

I know this will hit you as ‘no, it’s impossible! I have to be perfect to be lovable‘, but it’s just not so.

Perfection isn’t relatable, achievable or real and it’s downright boring! What makes us so real and unique are our flaws. It’s how we’ve worked through that gives others hope! (from Facebook)

Perfection is boring. And your perfection, or your smarts, or your beauty makes other people uncomfortable. Continue reading “Life is counter-intuitive to the human mind”

If it is NOT beauty, truth or goodness that inspires you

A higher state of being, a higher state of consciousness is when you are touched, moved, and inspired…

Let’s look at the word inspired first

People are writing to me claiming that they get touched, weepy from certain values. But when you look at their lives, that is an experience that does NOT inform their lives, only their eyes… Or maybe their ego, their mind?

What is inspired? Continue reading “If it is NOT beauty, truth or goodness that inspires you”

Who are you? Beauty, truth or goodness? Let’s find out

I was having an interesting conversation with one of my students.

Because he wanted to write his thesis on the Feelings book, an unknown entity, he needed to gain his thesis counselor’s support. And maybe even his enthusiasm. Or he was going to be alone… and it was going to be a tough road to hoe. Continue reading “Who are you? Beauty, truth or goodness? Let’s find out”
