Fructose malabsorption

digestive (and other) symptoms show that certain individuals, about 30% of the general population, have acquired fructose malabsorption: i.e. health symptoms associated with the consumption of food containing fructose.

Lab tests found that the digestive (and other) symptoms also can be detected with breath analysis: people complaining of the symptoms had a larger concentration of hydrogen in their breath as a result of the fructose they produced.

My experience is that an alcoholic fermentation takes place in the intestines (judging from the smell) and my symptoms are quite consistent with alcohol poisoning.
