Most Sleep Deprived States, West Virginia Tops the List

Sleep deprivation seems to be a common problem in the United States. A new set of statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection shows that people from West Virginia report most insufficient sleep. The least sleep deprived state is North Dakota.

According to CDC statistics, 37 percent of West Virginians reported being sleep deprived. Around 35 percent of people in Kentucky said they did not get sufficient sleep.

The report released this January by CDC says that sleep deprivation is pandemic in the U.S. Huffington Post reports that compared to last 5 years, the current numbers are remarkable. sleep positionsI happen to disagree with this. In my experience I can have as much REM sleep as all night, unless I have at least 60 minutes of deep sleep, I am a zombie next day.

So all my efforts are directed to make sure I have deep sleep, which is the first part of the sleep cycles...

No napping... no accidental falling asleep, no falling asleep with the light on, with TV on, with music on... all prevent you from going into deep sleep.
