How much voice do YOU have in the chorus of the voices that live in your head?
It’s Thursday morning, and I am starting a new experiment.
Yesterday I discovered that I have no idea what it is like to eat when you have an appetite. I observed myself, and I solely eat, have been eating, for taste. Texture. The mouthfeel.
But my physiology wants me to eat for appetite. Bummer, I don’t know the first thing about appetite… 🙁
I look at different languages to get a clue… In Hungarian appetite, the word, says “the desire to eat”. Hm. In other languages there are appetizers… that grow that desire to eat, or maybe to wake up the dormant desire? Statistics show that nearly 100% of the population is addicted to the approval of others, yet few of us are aware of it. And for average person with modest goals, it doesn’t really matter.
The problem arises when an ambitious person decides to build a career, business or pursue dream that requires substantial exposure to rejection. Studies show that over 80% of these people abandon their ambition within the first 12 months due to the pain of daily disapproval.
This is how Approval Addiction shatters dreams.
Approval addiction comes from the misunderstanding and the distortion of what the Tree of Life need, the need to meet the expectation of others tells you. Continue reading “Approval Addiction: the main symptom of no self, no core, no courage”
But on the Tree of Life clarity is the main component of having a winning life.
Clarity, on the Tree of Life, is finding the cause of an effect… Once you know the cause, you can play with it like a musical instrument: you can change out of the cause, you can modulate.
You have yourself and your life tamed sufficiently that you can safely say: I have the power… I call the shot.
On the Tree of Knowledge you cannot see the cause. It is hidden under an avalanche of feelings, “science”, words.
That is the purpose of the Tree of Knowledge, by the way.
And because you have no idea, anything or anyone can fool you.

How, in 20 minutes, I altered my future, and how you can do it (easy) yourself. Oh, and I also raised my vibration, noticeably.
There is a Landmark distinction called “Your probable, almost certain future.”
They teach it in the Advanced Course, because beginners are almost certainly not willing to look at where their lives are heading in such a certain fashion. Even advanced students lie, pretend, avoid, so they also avoid having a breakthrough.
Imagine your life being a train on laid down tracks. It’s heading towards its designated future at 100 miles an hour. You can look out the windows, you can pull down the shades, you can read, watch TV… whatever.
None of these activities will matter, you life will end up where it’s heading… unless.

I was feeling blue today. I opened the windows, and the noise from the outside was deafening… compared to the silence I have enjoyed all winter. I got a headache, I started to think of moving to someplace where it’s quiet… no grass mowers, no road repair, no people.
I felt the sadness. Grieving. My mind was digging up stories of sadness. One of my favorite book characters is sad, and is attracted to sad women… Henry Bosch.
Especially around a character, Cassie Black who later re-appears as Lena, if I remember correctly. Sad. Loss. Aloneness.

This article, a word by word transcription of one of Osho’s talks from 20-30 years ago is very enlightening. You will see what is between you and enlightenment. Also, the stories and jokes are wonderfully funny… Read it.
What happens to Human Consciousness when the people of the world suddenly realize they are in the midst of an unstoppable, devastating plague that will kill most of the people they know?
It depends on different people. For one who is absolutely conscious, nothing will happen; he will accept it, just as he has accepted everything else. There will be no struggles, no anxieties.
As he can accept his own death, he can accept the death of his planet too. And this acceptance is not in any way a kind of helplessness but on the contrary, just seeing the suchness of things — that everything is born, lives and has to die.

Alone is one of the itches we identify on my Itch.
An itch is something that you want, desperately, to come to you, from the outside. But even when it does, it doesn’t do it for you, it doesn’t scratch the itch. Only you giving what you want scratches the itch.
The perfect example is the fireplace: you want heat from the fireplace. After all the fireplace is supposed to give you heat and coziness, and romance, and a sense of home.
But in real life, you need to feed the fireplace, before it will give you heat… let alone cozy and romance and a sense of home.
When you have Alone as your itch, you are always disappointed, because no matter what you do, the alone follows you, like your shadow.

Turning Points: Queen to Play
Lots of movies are based on a script of turning points. Of course: a dramatic turning point is really great story.
But few of the turning points are of any use for the viewer: chances of that exact happening should come to your life are slim.
