I wrote this article more than four years ago. I assigned this simple exercise to about a hundred people, and to my dismay, all failed.
I discovered two days ago why... and now I can start teaching it again, and see if it is a lack of capacity, or a lack of intention that causes the failure.
Why am I so persistent in teaching something no one wants to do? Because, as you'll find out, it is both a test and a spiritual practice that can take you to beingness, the dominion of heaven. I'll add what I have newly discovered where it is needed, in italics and in the footnotes, below the article.
In this article I introduce a simple exercise that if you are willing to do, consistently, you will be able to accomplish a whole lot, probably more than any meditation program by itself. It does two things:
it takes you out of your head (what other exercise does that? Heh?) My bad: it turned out that getting out of your head requires a capacity in your DNA to be turned on, and most people don't have it turned on... I can turn on the capacity for you. I also have a recorded workshop to teach you all the intricacies of that capacity: that capacity is the gatekeeper between being a human and being a human being. Available only this week...
Summary: Emotions... without emotions you feel deadened. But you only want good emotions... unfortunately, for you, you can't have the good without the bad, life is a roller coaster, and you would hate to be stranded on the top of the peak anyway...
I listened to the audiobook, Molecules of Emotions some 10 years ago in the car. It's a book written by a scientist, Candace Pert.
I did not set out to be a scientist of emotions... but I was eminently suited: instead of just talking about it, instead of writing about, I can actually verify the "findings", verify or un-verify the theories by feeling.
Our language doesn't keep up with the emotions: just like we don't have words for the billions of colors that can be created with the four base colors of light, red, blue and yellow... and of course white... we don't have accurate words for the feelings that are a combination, an energetic combination of base feelings. One of the sources of what to read is the book-list of people that are light years ahead of me, like Charlie Munger, the billionaire. I've read science books because of his book list. Other ideas come from my own articles: like reading Sarah Singer and Blair Singer, whose books and videos are setting my world on fire right now. 1
Believe it or not, I spend the bulk of my time studying, reading, watching videos, testing, and writing articles. About 3-4 hours a week on eating, preparing stuff, hygiene, and food shopping. etc. and the rest on business per se.
The biggest challenge I have is to remember to generate income.
For years I've seen that humans, humanity, are stuck in a place where happiness is impossible, accomplishment is not predictable, and health is touch and go.
I've had big hopes, selfish hopes, that I will be the one to unstuck you.
Lots of other people have this hope... and the hopes remain hopes, because you have a vested interest to keep what keeps you stuck in place? If we knew what keeps you stuck, maybe we could unstuck you.
Changeability, adaptability is the secret of living a consistently good life... but changeability and adaptability depend on awareness. As your awareness grows in the four pillars of the good life, so your success and the quality of your life...
By the way, did you notice I didn't say "learn about awareness..." but that is what you read? Right?
In the old Forum program, the Forum Leader came in, screaming at us, poor unsuspecting brand new participants: For you Everything is the same as everything else ... except not always.
You are wired to avoid uncertainty, wired to want to know how it all works so you can be safe. Understandable. Makes sense... you must use the MIND to accomplish that: feel safe, believe you are safe, dream of safety, crave safety, shrink, become nearly nonexistent.
