If you are on this site, you will find yourself, more or less, in this article. And it may change your life.
A student writes,
Hi Sophie, I think I take trivial and superficial things too seriously. How can I let go of these immaterial incidents or people and focus on important things that truly matter to me?
this was my answer
“This is the sign of two things: 1. your map of reality isn’t very similar to reality. 2. you have too much importance attached to nice words about you… i.e. you want to be defined by words not by your actions.

As I have written before, the book I am reading now is the Metaskills.
The author is a designer, and looks at life through a designer’s glasses.
The article “You live in a world of your own design” is one of the favorite articles on my site. People want to design their lives.
The popularity of the program, Mind Movies builds on that desire to design… but the requirements for design are not there, not there for 99.99% of humanity… What is there is something else, something that doesn’t allow for design.
If we didn’t have words, we would have no emotions. All emotions come from words… some are yours, some are not…
The Amish Horse Training Method is to be able to hear all the words that create emotions… and hear them in a way, that gives you a choice to honor them or not, depending of the source of the words, the relevance of the words…
The Amish Horse Training Method returns you to the driving seat of your life…
Not surprisingly, for most students the first step towards mastery is mastering their attention. Unless you can control your attention, you are a putz… and are controlled by someone or something, but not you. And for you to be you, you need to call the shot.
The luckier students admit that they have a difficult time sticking with a book… because they can’t pay attention to it, they can’t understand, or they can’t remember what they read. Or the do a narrative, argue with the book, agree, disagree… but have no idea what they actually read. They remember the arguing. I am reading Osho, specifically his collection of talks on freedom.
He didn’t actually write any of his books, they are collections of his spontaneous daily talks in his ashrams to his devotees, answering questions.
One of the most intriguing concepts is this:
You want freedom. Freedom of choice.
And you find out that once you have chosen, anything, the scope of freedom gets reduced, diminished.
He suggests this experiment:
Stand up. Now raise one of your feet and stand on the other leg.
Now lift the other leg…
You can’t, can you?
This is how choice and freedom are connected.

Coherence is when all your energies, all your fibers share the same direction and the same rhythm.
Much like having a six-horse carriage, and the horses pull in the same direction.
Incoherence is like herding cats… hopeless.
I am rarely incoherent. And when I am: I am acutely aware of it. Very unpleasant.
The truth is: I used to be incoherent most of the time.
What is the cause of incoherence? I think, for me, too many choices. And an inability or unwillingness to narrow them down, and maybe choose. Continue reading “From time to time I get incoherent.”
Yesterday I downloaded the Days of Power energy. The “skies” open up at precise times and the energy that is available can be channeled if someone is able to go close enough, and if someone is brave enough to use themselves as a pipe to concentrate the energy for someone else’s benefit.
That is what I do in the Days of Power energy downloads.
There is a part of this though, that I want to talk about, because there is something to learn from it.
Humans, on the Tree of Knowledge, see change as a series of instant changes, like the cuts in a movie. Now I am here, now I am there.
But in reality, things don’t just jump from here to there… even the brain cannot switch as fast as the movie.

“It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings.”
Of all the 10 starting point measurements, the most telling is your TLB score.
It tells me, and it tells you, how much discomfort you are able to experience and not run away mentally, emotionally, or physically. And therefore it tells you whether you can have the good life, health, wealth, love and fulfillment… or not.
Its activating mechanism is below your conscious awareness, and is quite habitual.
In modern parlance they call it “Attention Deficit”… but it’s B.S.
As long as there is no structural difference between an ADD person’s brain and a person who can stay planted… attentive, it is more a habit than a disease. Continue reading “Wrestling back the steering wheel of your life from ADD, frustration, depression, anger, and more”
Today’s “What’s the truth about you?” workshop is the first experiment to get to beingness through feelings.
The challenge, for the participant, is to accurately feel their feelings, and maybe even what the feeling wants them to do, the inner dynamics.
My experience is that despite what everyone teaches, you cannot get to what you want through words. But you can get to what you want through the feelings level and the through feelings level to the beingness level: the creative plane.
If the “Law of Attraction” or the “Law of Similars” has any water to hold, if being in energetic alignment with what you want does actually allow you to go for it, having, use it, keep it, then this is the most important skill you want to develop. When you experience life as good, harmonious, nurturing: what is it that makes you experience it like that? What you have? What you do? Who you are with? What you have accomplished?
This is a question I bet you never asked.
You have asked different questions:
What did I do to deserve this misery? Why me?
…or you’ve been asking me: What shall I do with my life? What is the purpose of my life? What kind of work shall I do?

Wallace D. Wattles said that. One Hundred years ago.
Of course he was mistaken in 70% of what he said; your thoughts do not create, etc. and yet. The 30% is worth its weight in gold.
I have been practicing being on the creative plane: no hurry, no competition, no scarcity, you can’t miss anything… Not easy to stay on it… wasn’t even easy to “climb” on it.
It’s been the best thing ever happened to my life.
I see it even clearer by observing my students who are always in a hurry.
Tai has this “patient-impatient” and “impatient-patient” going, and I have to admit that it goes right over my head… just like his PACE categories… but I completely get that if you start anything with the idea that it is going be fast, that it is going to be easy, you are going to make mistakes, and you are going to run out of steam.
