I didn't expect it to happen... and it surprised and scared the heck out of me.
In the story I am currently following on Netflix, The Guardian, the lead character finally shows his true colors...
Now, I did see outward signs of it, but the emotional side, maybe because they picked the wrong actor for it, didn't match.
The story is about a talented lawyer who gets caught possessing and using drugs. Instead of sending him to jail, they sentence him to 1500 hours of community service, to work as a lawyer to help children who need the system to help them. 1 Continue reading "In and out of duality"
... I have been blamed for it... People say I am angry, whatever. They are turned off by my complaining...
But the truth of the matter is this: if there were transformational programs that deliver on their promises, I would be first in line to recommend them to do, because I don't particularly enjoy doing those trainings. I like coaching, I like working with energies, I like creating energy products, but I don't like to teach distinctions of transformation.
There are companies that teach better than me, except that their results, the students' results are flash in the pan...
So I have been complaining for, I don't know... 20 years? lol...
The size of your paradigm, the size of your puny world... and what can you do about it?
You were born with a paradigm of 1,000. You were born innocent, knowing nothing, therefore knowing everything.
The tales of karma, the tales of past lives is not true, not really, maybe not at all.
You were born with no past and no future... Maybe some past starting from 4 month old in utero...
Then the world starts to "educate you" about what you can, what you can't, what's true and what's false, and that is, for a while, passing on their paradigm. The intention is to keep you safe, not to imprison you, but ultimately that is the result they achieve.
Then you get to the ripe old age of 3 years old, and if you are typical, you start pretending that you already know everything there is to know, because you have already learned that the people who are big, seem to you to know everything... and they seem to you to do better than you.
Like you, I want certainty. Like you, I want to be sure. Like you, I want to understand how the world works.
Why? Because we are coming from a personal world view that Life is dangerous. Or something to that effect.
Osho has a theory that when you are born and have to suddenly and without preparation leave the safety and luxury of the womb, your first emotional response is fear. Especially if you are born in a delivery room with glaring lights, lots of noise, and someone holding you upside down and slapping your bottom to make you breathe.
L. Ron Hubbard (of Dianetics fame) adds that people talk in the delivery room, and you absorb all of it as if it were the truth about you. One of my students had a hard time getting through the birth canal, and was stuck for a while. "She is stuck..." the doctor said, and she's been stuck ever since.
Another student of mine (probably) heard in the delivery room "I can't feel anything" and lo and behold, he can't feel anything. Hunger, anger, love... none of it.
Now, whether that is the reason, or it is cultural, it is immaterial. You live in a world where the mood is: The world is dangerous, mistakes are bad, you need to know, and therefore you are incessantly looking for a safer way to live.
In that environment, you "buy" anything that sounds like an explanation to all the strange things you hear or feel. You follow anyone "who has the answer." You follow religions, gurus, teachers, you become vegetarian, fruitarian, anything to avoid the uncertainty of life, i.e. life itself.
As you may know, I am leading a twice a week course, called Daily Connection. There is no set curriculum: the goal is to peel away the not-you. The not-self. The false self. Just like Michelangelo chipped away what's not David...
There are two approaches to coaching people to be their best:
to call them infinite being, beautiful, loving, blah blah blah. It's holding your face to the light. I am not attracted to that.
The methodology of Kabbalah and Landmark and maybe even Dianetics: find the not self, identify it, and transform it. Not change it, but transform it.
A cancer cell changed is still a cancer cell. A cancer cell transformed is a normal cell with a specific function in the body.
Radical Honesty: the truth about you if you are human and breathe: you are a liar. 1
Did you notice that in American spoken English, people don't lie down, they lay down; things are not underlying, they are underlaying. The culture of withhold, the culture of hidden lies is so strong: it is changing the language.
You can call a person an s.o.b., but don't call him on a lie: he will kill you, or at least sue you. Lol.
Someone recommended that book, the Radical Honesty, to me. I had to put it down after about 30 pages: I could not stand the amateurish writing style, the long convoluted sentences, the self-promotion angle of it.
I just hung up with a friend. He started, with my help, a business that so far built him a mailing list of about 700 people: not a bad start. He also got three consulting gigs out of it, that isn't bad either.
I am managing his mailing list for him, and I feel that his people need to get an email today, or they will not remember why this guy is writing to them.
Normally this guy calls me every day, but I haven't heard from him for more than two weeks.
So I called him. "What's up? Your people need to get an email... what do you want to tell them?"
From the other end of the line this sheepish voice came, shame mostly. "I don't know why I can't do it. I have so many ideas and then I just don't want to do it..." he was squirming.
This has been his attitude with any growth opportunity he had in the past 12 years: that is how long I've known him.
So, what's up with that, WTF, right?
He is a Landmark graduate, he did Dianetics, he worked with Tony Robbins, he went to India a dozen times, how come he can't control himself when it comes to success?
He is impeded... he is using most of his energies to hide stuff... that if he goes to uncharted territory, where all the moves are unusual, he may slip and let up and some of that ugliness spills out.
How do I know it? because that is how humans are... use most of their brain power, and 99% of their will to stuff what they NEED TO STUFF, to maintain the status quo... and interestingly, there is nothing nice or lovely about the status quo: most of the people I know are dissatisfied, bored, lost, hoping, trying, but none of them are living, passionately, nothing held back, full out, like they could.
The conversation below is a great way to track this young man's ascension... it is not fully done, so I will continue this thread as it grows.

Please remember that this case study is concerned with one aspect: does the modality raises your vibration permanently. That is the only question I answer here, that is my only concern.
Why? Because there are tons of life-coaches, lots of "transformational" programs, lots of spiritual teachers, lots of meditation, yoga, brain-entrainment, etc. programs are out there that create a feel-good effect, but the effect isn't lasting, and you have to go back for more.
What do I mean?
Examples of stuck states
Let me give you a few examples: A friend of mine follows a guru. She even became one of the "master teachers" of the guru's energy modality.
She goes to these weekends and comes back, high as a kite... but comes down crashing. She is taking more and more time out of her business to "seek" enlightenment.
Her main issues of avoiding risk, and being alone aren't solved, but she keeps going back..
An ex teacher of mine, today a mastermind partner, is exhausted again. She is yelling at her husband. She is worried. She works from the moment she wakes up till she crashes at night.
When I examine, she is running on old patterns, like a puppet on a string, battling some invisible scarcity monster that won't let up. She has had many coaches, but the situation is getting worse... the real issue isn't addressed.
What's predictable is that she will never get off the war-path till she dies.
Another acquaintance of mine wants to be successful, make money, travel the world, be a sought after "transformational" coach.
In the 10 years I've been watching her, she has avoided learning anything. She hasn't read a book from cover to cover. She watches videos on youtube and reads articles on blogs, and then sends them to me.
She hasn't made any useful action in the direction of her goal... She is continually trapped in lala land of self-delusion.
The underlying craving for success, and the underlying fear of failure, fear of finding out that she is not as good as she thinks she is causes her life to be hellish.
Although there is the map of consciousness, and there is the method of Abraham/Hicks, they are a feel good method and do not raise your vibration any longer than as long as you are willing to do those methods.
Not bad, but it is a lot like having a job for a living. The moment you stop working you are poor...
Now compare it with being independently wealthy: the money comes in like clockwork without you having to constantly work for it. Your money works for you, and it brings you dividends.
Obviously somebody had to work for that money originally, money doesn't come from nothing, but once that money was earned, and invested, it is the money that starts generating more money.
