If your life isn’t working as well as you think it should…

Thinking that your social status, your finances are a reflection of your value is a myth that can render you, your status, your finances low, if you are not born privileged.

I just read an article about the myth of meritocracy and how it hurts kids of color, in The Atlantic, and I found an answer to my question: why my Black students don’t do as well in life as one would expect of them, based on their abilities. Or women. Or other minorities… Or just regular people brought up mainly by women. 1

This post will get at this issue from different vantage points, so hold onto your hat… or you’ll lose it.

You may remember the principle that made T. Harv Eker a millionaire?

If things are not going well, it is a sign that something you don’t know.

Now, what he doesn’t say is that the thing that you don’t see is profound. It is a principle. Or a distinction. Something big. Continue reading “If your life isn’t working as well as you think it should…”

Are you disappointed with yourself for not being higher minded, and achieving more in life?

be an empty spotFor years I’ve seen that humans, humanity, are stuck in a place where happiness is impossible, accomplishment is not predictable, and health is touch and go.

I’ve had big hopes, selfish hopes, that I will be the one to unstuck you.

Lots of other people have this hope… and the hopes remain hopes, because you have a vested interest to keep what keeps you stuck in place? If we knew what keeps you stuck, maybe we could unstuck you.

This article is an attempt to identify that one thing. The linchpin issue.

Is the fixed mindset a sign of courage deficiency? Can you turn on courage?

If you can’t measure it it doesn’t exist.

The world’s population is divided. A small part tries to get results through effort, and the large part is trying to sail on their innate abilities alone.

People in both parts have an ego. Ego is normal.

Ego can push you forward, or ego can hold you back.

This is exactly how it works in the two parts of the population.

  1. The people who want to live through effort, learning, challenges use their ego to push them forward.
  2. The other part… hell, they use their ego to get offended from criticism, to hide from challenges, and to make sure they maintain their self-image… whatever it may be.

Soul Correction: How do you do it?

life-blockedSoul correction is the pivoting point, the fulcrum around which a person can go from gene driven to someone who can become, potentially, an expanding human being.

Said in another way, each person has a particular and typical to their soul correction way that is stuck in a lower way of being.

The most frequent question I hear: how do you fix it? or as one my students said it: “this whole thing turns a lot of corners. I’m not sure i can even recognize all the ways i use it. Nor how to climb out of it.”

The answer will surprise you: The moment you are trying to “climb out of it” or “fix it”… you enter a world of pretense.

Both climbing out and fixing are the genes’ way of pulling the wool over your eyes. To push back the hidden deeper into the invisible.

Conscious awareness is the best predictor of worldly success… your worth a damn factor is close second

classbart

To my surprise, people have no idea that their worth a damn factor has been neglected since they were little babies.

They get “encouragement” to not know that there is such a thing… and then they grow up to be seriously not worth a damn, and they suffer.

How does it work?

If you are consistently praised for being a good girl, a pretty girl, a smart girl… you’ll think that that is what there is to it. That is your ticket to the good life, to paradise.

Arrogance. Ignorance just hides behind it…

arrogance is looking down... comparisonI have been dealing with arrogance in my students.

Arrogance is unearned boastful superiority.

Most people don’t know and don’t care because they themselves are not achievers… but you can have confidence that is justified by your accomplishments, your superior knowledge. Continue reading “Arrogance. Ignorance just hides behind it…”

Back into light… The counter cultural way to

Living in the three levels of value, the systemic, the extrinsic, and the intrinsic, lived fully, and balanced, is the secret to the good life.

The Indian sages, including the Buddha, skipped the extrinsic. They taught people not to live there. They had a disdain for it.

But work is on the extrinsic level, making money is on that level, so skipping it means living a life of charity. Living a life where you cannot value another person on all levels… because you don’t value the values of that level.

Not knowing yourself is preventing self-actualization

coherence4Thank god, I can relate to this… I didn’t know myself, didn’t even begin to know myself until 1988 or so. It’s a stumbling block I myself had to go over… and it wasn’t a walk in the park, so I see your hesitation.

And it isn’t the easiest stumbling block either. It takes courage. Man of Fear won’t even go there. Man of Courage… hell yeah… once he finds out that it is missing.

It’s a difficult stumbling block, because knowing means: accurately. And knowing means: sober eyes. Not critical, not judgmental, not apologetic, not justifying. And not running away. Continue reading “Not knowing yourself is preventing self-actualization”

Are you trying to use what you know to be well, healthy, vital, vibrant, and intelligent?

4918575268_668c415bd7_zWhen you are trying to use your mind to be well, healthy, vital, vibrant, and smart

Your mind is good for mind stuff… but being well, being healthy, being vital, being vibrant, and even being smart are intrinsic values, and the mind cannot wrap itself around it: they are above mind.

Mind is concerned with what mind is concerned with, and it is never the whole; it’s the pieces, it’s the spot cleaning.

Mind thinks that if it put together the parts it can see are needed, the parts would create health, vitality, etc… but the mind, the mechanistic systemic organ is sorely mistaken. In the paradigm of the mind two plus two makes four… same level where you started: parts. No life.

Life is an intrinsic value… impenetrable by the mind.

Are you healthy enough to have meaning? Purpose?

This is my quest: to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.

Meaning: Following THAT Star. The alternative is Meaningless
This is my quest: to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.

Humans are strange animals: they need meaning to make their lives to feel more than just existing. They need purpose to give a backbone, to give direction, to transform a life of prose to poetry.

Anything less is not inspiring… and not inspiring means dead… drab… drudgery. Continue reading “Are you healthy enough to have meaning? Purpose?”
