Can you fully recover from depression from a drug?

You should consider reading the novel, Flowers for Algernon, by Daniel Keyes

Not the movie, the book.

Why, you would ask… Because it shows you what happens when you get to unearned heights.

In the book, Charlie undergoes an operation that makes his brain perform at beyond genius level… only to go back to become mentally handicapped… again.

Because a living being is an organism, you really cannot gift it a higher level than the whole organism. It cannot carry the weight… and it collapses to where it was before the “gifting” or below. Continue reading “Can you fully recover from depression from a drug?”

The misbuttoned shirt life and what to do about it

Emotional intelligence, emotional maturity… the end of suffering, the end of life in hell is all a result of the misbuttoned shirt life

Fiction, good fiction, allows you to have intimacy with people you never knew. And what we miss most in life is intimacy. Knowing the other, being known and accepted.

It’s hard to be intimate in real life, it takes two people, two people who were hurt, maybe abused as children, so it is nearly impossible.

I listen to the partner call (from the Playground) and wish they read fiction. Reading fiction, especially children’s books, is very healing.

At least for myself.

You cry, and you don’t even know why, but you are healing.

If the invisible reality is invisible, how can you see it?

Most people who read my articles, or new people in my courses are puzzled by the term: learning about the invisible reality. How can you learn about, how can you learn about something that is invisible?

But, just like you can write with invisible ink, that can be made visible by another chemical process, you can make the invisible visible, for yourself, by recognizing certain characteristics, or by asking astute questions I teach you.

Of course unless you are somewhat astute, all the astute questions won’t matter… or worse than that: you’ll ask them without first seeing, astutely (again) what is in the visible.

One of the biggest missing is the ability to connect the dots, to see the connection or similarity between seemingly unrelated incidents, seemingly unrelated occurrences, either in space, or in time, or in circumstances. Continue reading “If the invisible reality is invisible, how can you see it?”

Emotional Intelligence: learning what feelings are, what feelings do will help you live life as a human, instead of a puppet

Yesterday I was on the phone with a client.

Her soul correction is Fear/Fearless. In the conversation it was becoming obvious that she had read “Feelings” the book I have been so excited about. So the conversation was on a more even footing that most of my conversations: she has been paying attention and recognizing at least some of the dynamics the feelings have, and has been managing her fear quite well.

Buy the book “Feelings” Show proof of purchase for a pdf… you’ll need it. It’s hard to see the illustration on Kindle…

You have always wanted to get out of your head. You tried meditation, drugs, to no avail. Because the way out of the head is through the feelings… the body, where you feel the feelings. Your control center. Overriding the mind nearly 100% of the time.

Capacities, distinctions, intelligence, and success in life: strong correlation.

Let’s start with debunking the current world view, that intelligence is inborn. We are all born tabula raza… a blank slate.

Your intelligence depends on the number of large chunks, neural connections permanently formed in your brain firing together automatically. Those chunks are created in learning.

Reality has two parts: the visible reality, the part that can be perceived by anyone, and the invisible reality that is governed by the invisible dynamics… that you actually need to learn to see.

The invisible reality is an iceberg: the visible part provides clues for the invisible part: that there is something invisible yet real. Depending on how you look at the visible part, through what vantage point, you are going to see different aspects of the invisible. One of the ways, one of the vantage points to look through is the learning to learn course. 1

The principle of intelligence is: the more problem solving chunks your brain has, i.e. the more neural connections you have, or speaking in transformational technology terms: the more distinctions you have, the more difficult problems you can solve.

Life is full of difficult problems that you can either solve or you suffer. The most pain comes from other people.

When I measure how many spiritual capacities you have active in your DNA, the correlation between the number of spiritual capacities, the number of distinctions, and success in life is obvious, although the why isn’t quite obvious… yet.

What qualifies a “spiritual” teacher to teach, is that they are one step ahead of their students, one lesson…

At least that is what I thought until this morning.

But… Continue reading “Capacities, distinctions, intelligence, and success in life: strong correlation.”

I don’t want to be judged! you cry. But YOU judge everything and everyone…

Why would you think that someone will judge you? Simple… you have already judged yourself.

But why would you? Not everyone judge themselves. I, for example, don’t… or not often at all. I often assess myself, my behavior, my looks, my stuff… but assessment does not carry condemnation in it, and it doesn’t carry praise in it either.

What is the difference between judgment and assessment 1 ?

The main difference is fixed mindset.

In judgment, the judging person lives as if there were a fixed good or bad, smart or stupid, right or wrong. And then they act as if they were assigned the job of judging…

So a high fixed mindset plus arrogance, superiority, plus high desire/low ambition numbers.

I have found that people with this combination are unable, unwilling, or resistant to do the work of the Playground. Continue reading “I don’t want to be judged! you cry. But YOU judge everything and everyone…”

Can’t see the forest for the trees? What is astuteness?

Distinction vs examples

One of the reasons you are not as astute in life is because you can’t see the forest for the trees.

You can see the example, but you cannot see the distinction.

But why?

Seeing patterns is a higher function of the brain, and needs to be developed and nurtured. I call this astuteness, or the using the astute capacity.
