Stuff we see we solve, the stuff we don’t see kicks our ass

Turning the impossible possible…. results in flow

I have been listening to a podcast… two and a half hour long, so I can take only a half hour here, a half hour there…

The sentences above are from that podcast… a conversation about how to get into your flow state.

Because I have client with a half-done Juice Exercise call, I am looking for some help in that podcast… some more inspiration than I already have… More faith, more confidence…

…while I am pondering why don’t more people apply, apply in droves, to see what gives them juice?

Because once you see it and see it accurately, bring it out of the invisible, you feel that you have to.

Let me ask you a question? When you are hungry, do you feel that you have to eat? Of do you feel that you want to eat? That eating is good for you?

Can you see what I am saying? The Juice Exercise brings to light what gives you a sense of joy, what allows you to feel energized, hooked up, alive, turned on… by allowing you to see what it is.

And yet you and the 99-percenters opt to remain blind. Opt to cut your nose in spite of your face.

Because once you know what gives you joy, you want to bring it to all of your life, to every aspect of it.

And that may mean bringing it to every area of life, as a context, consciously.

My example: I found that what brings juice for me is bringing the divine to everything. Every action, every aspect of my life, to all of life.

So, in practice this means that the most menial, most mundane, or maybe even painful activities that one must perform to live, can be turned into a spiritual experience, a source of joy.

There are a ton of activities I don’t like… but I can bring the divine to it, and then it’s enjoyable. Doing the laundry, feeling another’s pain, even doing the Juice Exercise… not fun.

The Juice Exercise, for example, is probably very enjoyable for the client: after all we dig into what they like and why, their experiences, and everyone loves to talk about themselves.

For the practitioner it is not fun. The conversation is almost exclusively about things that are not relevant, that are happenstance, that are not real sources of joy. Trudging, trudging, and hoping.

And then, as if the sun came out from a cloudy sky, accidentally, some light shows up, and then the conversation takes a turn: we are in the finish line.

Most clients go away happy, but I know better.

Insights are a dime a dozen, really.

Unless insights are turned into a new context for life, and it takes time, the insight: what gives you juice, is limited to itself… a bright spot in a night sky…

I discovered my Juice about 10 years ago. It’s taken me many years to integrate my life around it. NOT integrate it into my life… NO! the other way around.

I made it the context, the organizing principle of my life. It was especially needed in areas where I didn’t already have that.

  • Where I was out to prove that I was smart…
  • where I was superior…
  • where I felt activities were below me…
  • where I felt that the circumstances needed me to fit in…
  • wherever I was less than I wanted to be.
It was the guiding light that showed me and helped me, in the right context, make the changes I needed to make so I can truly bring the divine, not the idea of the divine, but the divine itself, to life.

I have clients whose life seemingly turned around after the Juice Exercise, but at some point that “seemingly” collapsed into itself.

What happened is this: the Juice turned into an activity, instead of an organizing principle.

Is it their fault? Maybe.

Is it my fault? Certainly. Especially if I was in a position to regularly and diligently nudge them to integrate their lives around the Juice.

Why didn’t I do it?

Honestly? You want me to be honest, right? Righto…

I didn’t know it.

I am not an all knowing, blameless, son of god guru.

I am an ordinary human, who learns as they go.

I listen to my old recordings, and I can hear it. Clearly. I get frustrated at people’s insistence to do nothing, to remain locked into the small box, at their refusal or reluctance, or belligerence to be inspired.

From my vantage point the most important starting point measure is the measure that shows how inspired you can become and how inspired are you now? 1

This measure shows me how much energy I need to lead them. How much elbow room I have to work with. Also, how much difference the Juice Exercise can make for them.

By the way, the how inspired can you get measure is suppressed by the desire number, which I should rename “the wanting number”, and the Desire Trap I should rename the “Wanting Trap”, because the word wanting expresses clearer what we are talking about. Desire is actually sacred.

One of my students caught herself envying a friend of hers. She is in the Playground, so she ended up looking at reality, and she saw that envy, in the Reality space, is a guidance feeling: showing you what you desire, instead of just a sinful feeling. And very astutely she wrote down: my desire, my ambition is to take myself to a place where I can have that, do that, achieve that.

Most people I muscletest have 10% for “how inspired you can get” and about 1-3% of how inspired they are now.

Not a lot of elbow room to grow.

And then there are others with 30-50% as the higher number, and 10% or less as the lower number, and I can inspire them to bring those number closer to live a blessed life through finding out their Juice.

Closer… not to match. What animates a human is the gap between those two numbers. But unless the natural, innate, divine Juice is distinguished, the animation goes towards stuff that causes more grief than pleasure.

Some people suppress inspiration, because it has already been declared frivolous and impossible. Their past failures are projected into the future. And in spite all appearances, I need to bring the divine to our conversations to inspire them, to help them release the divine in them.

That is one of those “jobs” I don’t like, and don’t do very well, or very consistently.

If there is one thing I envy the famous motivational gurus for is their abundant ability to look at people and see reality: they say: if you are breathing, you can be inspired.

It clashes with my soul correction, but I am working on getting better at it… even though I still see reality as a “Forget Thyself” person sees reality.

But whenever I was willing to inspire: it paid dividends, and seemingly hopeless people started to move up the scale.

I am willing to be wrong about reality… And allow the divine to call the shot.

There is a gap still between willing and able… so I have a lot to grow.

I have recently declared: no one left behind! And if it is really up to me, as it probably is, and if it takes inspiring people so they can live out of a higher reality than they have, then I’ll do it.

It feels, at this stage, that I have to turn myself inside out.

But then I remember what drew me to Landmark Education (it was Werner Erhard and Associates back in the early 80’s) it was the slogan “Creating a world that works for everyone, with no one left out”.

I sure felt left out, hopeless, and alone, with no one claiming that I matter and show that the world could work for me too, not just for other people.

This is why I threw myself into assisting, and doing all the programs of the wea… because I saw that it is not other people’s job to create the world where I belong, it is my job, it is every person’s job.

Belonging is up to you. No one can make you feel that you belong, only you.

I have never stopped creating the world where I belong, however obnoxious methods I have used…

This past week I must have turned a corner in that, because two people looked at me differently…

You see, when you belong, you give people permission to belong too.

One of those people was my older brother who thanked me for the conversation. It happened once before, but that was about three years ago.

I guess I wasn’t focusing on what I wanted to say…

I will have to experiment more, what creates a sense of belonging in people. But I am almost certain that bringing my Juice, bringing the divine to the call had a major role.

I have always said: what you see drives your actions. What you don’t see can’t…

So my most important job is bringing the divine to seeing… so I can see more of reality.
