Should you pretend that we are already in the thousand years of peace?

A student asked today:

Sophie, I want to know more about the 1,000 years of peace. Can one who is committed to this idea actually start living as if they were already here? Is it wise? Is it possible?

My answer

I saw an episode of Doctor Who yesterday. In that The Doctor, a 900 year old Time Lord, commands that the people there demonstrate the best of humanity, to prevent a war with a powerful alien species.

Of course one of those people breaks that… and puts their own narrow minded concern ahead of peace.

The way to be in the thousand years of peace is to be the best of humanity: expanding, present, caring, etc.

Pretending to be that way, pretending to be caring, for example, is pretending, and will create the kind of misery the Canadians are experiencing: horrible.

But you can still be the best YOU can be. The question is: are you up for it? Even I am not the best I can be: it is a really tall order. But having invented the possibility of being a winner, I am actually doing more of my best than maybe ever before.

Thank you, Sophie

  1. For today’s Thanksgiving dinner get together, I am inventing the possibility of being a person who is able to maintain inner equilibrium, no matter what people are doing around me. My plan is to ‘win’ at it in little moments at a time.

  2. Sophie,

Thank you, that was my email, as you know. The email got sent out before I could add a part about my capacities.Yes, indeed, I do not have the new DNA capacities, and I would not want to pretend, so I knew that would be an issue.

I do not want to get too far ahead of myself by asking about the 1,000 Years of Peace. I have enough work to do right now. There’s more to the question, but we can talk about it at another time.

    Thank you,
