Osho: On Death

Osho Rajneesh on deathThis article, a word by word transcription of one of Osho’s talks from 20-30 years ago is very enlightening. You will see what is between you and enlightenment. Also, the stories and jokes are wonderfully funny… Read it.

What happens to Human Consciousness when the people of the world suddenly realize they are in the midst of an unstoppable, devastating plague that will kill most of the people they know?

It depends on different people. For one who is absolutely conscious, nothing will happen; he will accept it, just as he has accepted everything else. There will be no struggles, no anxieties.

As he can accept his own death, he can accept the death of his planet too. And this acceptance is not in any way a kind of helplessness but on the contrary, just seeing the suchness of things — that everything is born, lives and has to die.

From filing clerk of information, to glorious human being

mr and ms filing clerkHow do you know you are a mind-dweller?

  • Mind says: the important thing is to have the answer.
  • Life says: the important thing is to have the question.

Thinking, the proper use of the thinking part of the brain, is to ask questions. Questions allow you to penetrate things deeply, to see new connections, to see what’s below the surface.

The mind, also a part of the brain, isn’t interested in that, the mind really isn’t interested in anything. Maybe gossip, but that is it.

Vibrational Review: Helpful Waves tuning

Tom Jacobs, www.helpfulwaves.com creator of helpful waves, personal vibration: 70; Truth value of “self-healing” modality of tuning audios: 1%. What he does reminds me of what Andy Shaw says about people: “humans are the only species that play with their food”… Now, I know about food, and I know that it is bad for you, all this “cuisine” stuff, combining food items that make the dish toxic… for you.

The same is true about most audio energy transmission programs, and energy transmissions… just because you can do something, it doesn’t mean that it is good for people. This is very true for these “helpful” waves… it is good for your ego, but not good for YOU.

Ed Strachar, personal vibration: 70, truth value of what he says: 3%. Can heal? no. Can connect to Source? no. Can connect to the imaginary land of entities? yes. Can those entities heal? no

Mooji, personal vibration: 190. Enters beingness? no. Truth value of what he says: 6%

Are you using your attention? Attention: a strong physical energy that can move mountains

where is your attention? When people come to a session to learn to connect to Source, the first hurdle they need to go through is to find their attention.

Attention is physical. Attention is not mind, not brain, not your eyes.

Seeing something doesn’t mean your attention is there.
Hearing something doesn’t mean your attention is there.
When you feel something, it doesn’t mean your attention is there.

Andy Shaw’s Bug free mind… The good, the bad, and the ugly.

don't try to change your mind and expect your being to change!

The bad:

The biggest flaw of Andy Shaw’s work is it’s starting point.

Andy Shaw considers the mind important: He holds, that if you can change your mind you can change everything.

Not so. The mind isn’t the problem.

Even if you could change your mind, change the content in your mind, nothing would change.

The determinant of your actions, your attitude, your moods, your feelings is NOT the mind, but your being.

Bug Free Mind: No mind vs. Mindfulness

Rumi5Andy teaches a technique to get to no mind. It was easy for me… but I doubt that it’s easy for you.

When you are a “normal” human: living more than 70% of the time in your mind, repeating the same mental processes day in and day out, when you relate to the world through the mind, when you don’t spend any time in the present moment, then getting into no-mind is beyond you.

The best you can do is enter an illusion.

Develop your Awareness, your conscious awareness

the awareness we are talking about in this article is self-awarenessAwareness 1 , when it is in the context of raising your vibration, is an inner awareness, awareness of what lies below the surface, maybe even several layers deep. But to develop awareness, we need to start real close to the surface, and maybe even outside of it… a little bit. 2

Awareness of your insides is developed through practices in focusing your attention on the details of your emotional responses and your attitudes. You can’t learn anything about yourself, your insides, from others, or from a book: you can only be guided where to look, how to look, but what you will see is what you will see… no telling.

The greatest secret of life is that life is a gift. And so is happiness

osho: the man who loved seagullsI think, that of all Osho’s talks that I know, this is the most significant, and the most helpful, if you EVER want to be able to return HOME, to the present moment, where you can be content, happy, and start living.

Osho talks: The Man Who Loved Seagulls

7 May 1975 am in Buddha Hall

There was a man living by the seashore who loved seagulls. Every morning he went down to the sea to roam with the seagulls. More birds came to him than could be counted in hundreds.

His father said to him one day: I hear the seagulls all come roaming with you — bring me some to play with.

Next day, when he went to the sea, the seagulls danced above him and would not come down.

The greatest secret of life is — and remember it always — that life is a gift. You have not deserved it in the first place. It is not your right. It has been given to you, you have not earned it. Once you understand this, many things will become clear.

If life is a gift then all that belongs to life is going to be a gift. Happiness, love, meditation — all that is beautiful is going to be a gift from the holy, from the whole.

Osho on Knowledge and Knowing. Zen is just Zen

Osho_quoteASCENDING TO THE HIGH SEAT, DOGEN ZENJI SAID: “ZEN MASTER HOGEN STUDIED WITH KEISHIN ZENJI.
ONCE KEISHIN ZENJI ASKED HIM, JOZA, WHERE DO YOU GO?’
HOGEN SAID. ‘I AM MAKING PILGRIMAGE AIMLESSLY.’
KEISHIN SAID, ‘WHAT IS THE MATTER OF YOUR PILGRIMAGE?’
HOGEN SAID, ‘I DON’T KNOW.’
KEISHIN SAID, ‘NOT KNOWING IS THE MOST INTIMATE.’
HOGEN SUDDENLY ATTAINED GREAT ENLIGHTENMENT.”

ZEN IS JUST ZEN. There is nothing comparable to it. It is unique — unique in the sense that it is the most ordinary and yet the most extraordinary phenomenon that has happened to human consciousness. It is the most ordinary because it does not believe in knowledge, it does not believe in mind. It is not a philosophy, not a religion either. It is the acceptance of the ordinary existence with a total heart, with one’s total being, not desiring some other world, supra-mundane, supra-mental.

A goal is a result achieved by a certain time…

achieve-all-your-goalsA friend of mine asked for help in setting a goal. It wasn’t that he was interested in accomplishment. Really, he wanted to look like he was… Appearances.

Why am I so hard on him? I’ve known him for four-five years, and he hasn’t done anything, hasn’t accomplished anything.

He started a lot of things, talked about starting even more, but never actually took anything near a place where it would have worked, where it would have been either a failure or success.
