How to reclaim your Self from the mind and why

bathtubtest1

The mind doesn’t know who you are.

The mind also doesn’t care who you are. The mind also doesn’t care if you enjoy life, live life fully, are fulfilled, or not.

The mind is in cahoots with the world, with the “community”, with society, because that is how it was trained, by society.

If and when the mind is calling the shot 1 in your life, you become an effect, instead of the cause, the Creator of your life, you were meant to be.

Taking your mind back is not a one-step process, and it is not instant. It is not easy, and it is not simple. It will take time, it will take diligence, it will take calling the shot in this area of life.

If you have completely sold out to the mind already, this may not work for you.

But if you have a tiny spark still left in you from the human you were, originally, you can do it.

It will take long, but it can be done. And you can do it… but probably won’t.

Does this depend on your vibration? It is the other way around: your vibration depends on this… the more you our out of your mind, the higher your vibration will be.

Let me share a joke

Let me share a joke, because I love it… I found it while I was looking for pictures for this article… Here you go:

During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, “How do you Determine whether or not an older person should be put in a Nursing Home?” “Well,” he said, “we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub.”

“Oh, I understand,” I said. “A normal person would use the Bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.” “No” he said. “A normal person would pull the plug. Do you Want a bed near the window?”

Your mind will choose one of the offered choices… and keep you stupid, small, and out of the reaches of the levers and the dials of your life…

Now, onto an inspiring example:

I had a coaching client whose story is quite educational.

He’d never read a book in his life, didn’t think he could. Nothing wrong with that. But… He had an ambition to have intellectual conversations, with me, with women, with guys. He really wanted to be considered smart. And he had no knowledge.

I recommended he starts reading books. He protested. I said in six months he could get to a point where he would enjoy reading.

I asked him: would you fill a bathtub if the only tool you had is a teaspoon? He said: No way. But if the quality of your life depended on it, and I would guarantee that it would not take longer than six month: would you do it? He said yes.

So he started reading, and it was a struggle. Instead of six months, it took him three years to get to a place where he started to enjoy reading. This was 15 years ago. He gained, so far, 15 lovely years of lively intellectual discussions, and reading.

So, how do you reclaim your self from the mind?

The first thing you need to do is start practicing your feeling faculties: touch, smell, taste. Start with just one. If I can recommend one: pick touching… texture, temperature, softness, weight, start putting attention on what you feel. Then graduate to taste, then to smell. Take time with each.

Don’t label the feelings, just feel them. If and when you label them, you relegate them to memory, and stop feeling. Beats the purpose of getting out of the mind, please don’t do it.

North Americans, especially, eat the menu, not the food

Americans, especially, eat the menu, not the food. They have no distinctions in anything they put in their mouths, hot, cold, salty, bitter, spicy… that’s all they can taste.

Good food is wasted on you, the pleasures of life are wasted on you… you are not there to enjoy any of it, if you live in your mind.

Continue until you are good at it.

The next step will be harder, and I’ll write about it in another article.
