I have been talking about the memes… and it seems that I haven’t spoken clearly the point.
So let me take a stab at it, and I’ll try until it’s so clear that most people will get it.
A meme is a though form. Words. Some rule, some principle, some saying that says something about how the world works, how you should be, and what is good and bad.
The Tree of Knowledge houses the memes. They live their incestuous life there and they come from there to infect you. Continue reading “Still think memes are innocent?”
Is it clear? Are you clear? Yes! we say enthusiastically and we lie.
Clarity is one of the things we ALWAYS lie about. It’s like the speed limit… or not thinking about sex. It is a built in landmine to make sure we are never in integrity.
We view clarity if it were a black and white phenomenon.
And we talk about clarity as if it were knowable.
Clarity is one of those words…
You don’t know until you do.
So why talk about it if it is so tricky? Continue reading “Clarity”
I just had a profound realization: To the degree I deal with people whose actions lack integrity, to the same degree I lack integrity myself.
You are not only a sum total of your closest five people, your “originating” or “sourcing” circle. You are actually the same as the lowest of them in spiritual sense.
Your financial integrity, your earning power, your deserving factor, your happiness, your weight, your health, your mindset, all depend more on your friends than on yourself. Who you surround yourself with have more power in your life than you, yourself. Continue reading “Does your vibration depend only on you? Does your integrity depend only on your actions? Does your money depend only on your actions?”
It’s been coming up with more and more frequency:
We don’t know what it looks like to be good, to be kind, to be independent, to be happy, etc.
I wrote recently about my quest to become a kind person.
I am 70 years old. Why now? why so late in life?
When I look back at my childhood, when I look at my brothers, their wives, I see no kindness. EVER.
I am now able to be kind except right now, today… I am irritated, and out of balance… I don’t want to share the “story”, but please know that there are innate capacities and learned capacities. I will never be as patient as a saint… especially when I am out of balance… Kindness and patience are intimately connected.
Spiritual virtues, like kindness, goodness, love, forgiveness… etc. you only learn when you see it in many situations. We could be simplistic and call it learning by osmosis. Continue reading “The hidden spiritual capacity that is underneath all the others… I think.”
Could, reading Charlie Munger’s favorite books be considered being mentored by Charlie Munger? Or how to learn to do what people did through reading what they read… So you can do it too. So you can see what they saw.
People with humility and success quote a lot. They know where their views, where their knowledge comes from. And their knowledge is deep, instinctive driver of actions. Not book knowledge, not Trivial Pursuit knowledge. NOT Tree of Knowledge.
I read eclectically. The next few books that are on my list now come from Charlie Munger’s suggestions.
He sees things I don’t. He has wisdom I don’t. What he reads has something to do with it. How he reads, how he thinks… He says: “Becoming rational is a slow, arduous process.” You need to build up to developing that skill. Most of us have very small capacity to use our brains. But it can only be grown like a sculpture. So most don’t even start.

One of my favorite quotes from an ad is from the Men’s Hair Club… where the owner says: “I’m not just the president of Hair Club for Men, I’m also a client!”
I would never want to do business with anyone who is not also a client of their own business…
And of course, I am a client of my own. Meaning: I learn from what I write… and I learn and test everything first, before I recommend it…
With that said: to date the two most valuable nuggets I got out of my participation in my 67 step coaching program are:
- 1. innovate your way out of the problem
- 2. add suspenders to your belt aka Build Forgiveness Into the Land

Every human is moved by their emotions and feelings plus thoughts: words, ideas, concepts. In this order.
The motive power, the stimulus to act comes from the feelings.
The words, ideas, concepts only modify them, or direct the actions.
Without the thoughts, the words, the ideas, every human would act the same way. They would have to.
So the main difference between people is really the words, the ideas, what they say about what they feel.
One extreme is the “Twitchy Little Bastard“, while the other extreme is Jeff Bezos.
