What is the number in your starting point measurements that most predicts how effective you are in life?

Theory induced blindness

I like to call the phenomenon of not being able to see what doesn't agree with your theory of life: theory induced blindness. A more popular and better known label for it is "confirmation bias".

You only hear what you agree with. Or more precisely, you only see what you recognize. And you only consider what you recognize as agreeing with your world view.

I see this every day with people who turn to me, who I coach, who I give a free strategy session to.

And I saw this in this video. 1 Continue reading "What is the number in your starting point measurements that most predicts how effective you are in life?"

“Either everybody counts or nobody counts”

20 years ago I had my first entrepreneur value profile done.

It was some 30 pages long... a lot of English. But it said something like: I don't work well through others...

Bummer...

A year or two later I got my certification to become a value profile consultant. Then I learned to see all that the 30 page said in English (meaning lots of words) at a glance on a grid.

My starting point measurements is a lot like that grid. It is more meant for the coach/consultant to know how to guide you, than for you to enjoy reading to indulge your delusional self.

Sigh.

So today, 20 years later, I looked at coaching, both as a client and as a provider. Continue reading "“Either everybody counts or nobody counts”"

Clarity

Clarity

Is it clear? Are you clear? Yes! we say enthusiastically and we lie.

Clarity is one of the things we ALWAYS lie about. It's like the speed limit... or not thinking about sex. It is a built in landmine to make sure we are never in integrity.

We view clarity if it were a black and white phenomenon.

And we talk about clarity as if it were knowable.

Clarity is one of those words...

You don't know until you do.

So why talk about it if it is so tricky? Continue reading "Clarity"

What is your self-image? Are self-image questions, personality profiles, Kolbe test give you a correct answer?

True-Self-Test-True-Self-IQThere is a fundamental built-in error in tests that involve answering questions about ourselves.

I have found that personality tests that rely on your knowing yourself and to predict what you would do in certain situations, are profoundly flawed. 2

I say this after working with thousands of people, one-on-one, observing them, feeling them (I am an empath) and comparing who and how they are compared to what they say about themselves.

The gap is significant between the two.

You believe yourself different from who you are, and you fill out your questionnaire by your belief. But your actions will still be consistent with who you really are, how you really behave, your real attitude, your real self, and you'll be way off in your test results... 1

You'll be like the mad hero, Don Quixote, who lived in a world of his own design, unaware that he was out of sync, and that his actions were mad in the real world. 2

Are you trying to use what you know to be well, healthy, vital, vibrant, and intelligent?

4918575268_668c415bd7_zWhen you are trying to use your mind to be well, healthy, vital, vibrant, and smart

Your mind is good for mind stuff... but being well, being healthy, being vital, being vibrant, and even being smart are intrinsic values, and the mind cannot wrap itself around it: they are above mind.

Mind is concerned with what mind is concerned with, and it is never the whole; it's the pieces, it's the spot cleaning.

Mind thinks that if it put together the parts it can see are needed, the parts would create health, vitality, etc... but the mind, the mechanistic systemic organ is sorely mistaken. In the paradigm of the mind two plus two makes four... same level where you started: parts. No life.

Life is an intrinsic value... impenetrable by the mind.

What you value and in what order… why you are off… and why you are unhappy, unfulfilled, living a meaningless life

your load... intrinsicallyA lot of why's are answered here... why you can't get well, why you are not happy, etc.

People are the highest value in the universe. Why? Because they are able to be all levels of values, the thinking mind (systemic), the extrinsic (create tools, cook food, provide pleasure), and the intrinsic.

You live, predominantly on one level, and value what is on that level most.

Depending on how closely your valuation matches the valuation that is "godly", or the Original Design, you fulfill the purpose of being human.

Your free will, your choice is mostly inside the question: shall I shrink or shall I grow?

finally-flyingYou have been choosing the shrink most of your life... and you ended up on my site with a meager number of capacities, hoping to get more out of life than you are getting.

You have been choosing, consistently to be a fat flightless turkey, in spite of your DNA that has flying as a capacity.

Yesterday I activated the capacity of Process for a handful of people... and it seems that this is a crucial capacity... Here are some interesting insights reading people's notes who just got the Process capacity activated

T from England writes. She now has 12 capacities, including the Process...

This is new......my internal state, "Is happy"... no big noise, just that. I am quite serious by nature, there is quite a slap stick humour behind it without exhibition its amusing.

Managed to read 5 pages of Book without distraction :

ie. making tea, toast or treat
seeing this site as a great tool to grow,
less inhibited.Want to say more but, feel i would just be dribbling on.....thats not less, inhibited? Laugh, laugh.

Do You Think You Can Tell WHAT You See?

Most of us are sure we can. We make decisions based on what we see, and our decisions and actions take us to live the life we live.

Most of us live a life of quiet desperation. It was true at the turn of the last century, and it is true now.

There was a discipline and coaching paradigm I studied and used about 9 years ago. It is based on axiology, the Nobel Prize nominated work of Robert Hartman.

Axiology is the study of value or quality. It is the science that deals with what is good and what is not. Beyond and independent of subjective judgment.

The test (Value Profile) we ran in axiology had 4 parameters by which we could map out the potential for success of any individual.

One of them relates to the title. The parameter is called "clarity".
