The view is different from the foot of the mountain than from the top
One of the weird thing about humans that they are stuck in their limited view of reality.
They don't even suspect that there is a different view from different points.
This is why almost every otherwise worthless therapist or coach can cause temporary results... because all they need to learn is to ask you to look a different way, through a different perspective, and voilà... magic happens.
The problem is that when you are left to your own devices, you rarely if ever think to activate the magic. The magic that is magical, but isn't magic.
Things look different from different perspectives, because that is what perspective means. Duh.
And because your life is given by what you see, if you are stuck, which seems to me is always, all you need to do is change the perspective.
I hardly know anyone who volunteers to do that. Continue reading "What you see… is it reality?"
This is a hypothesis that will need to be confirmed with tests. I could also say: it's a hunch.
And my hunch is that the less trustworthy you are the less trust you have. Period.
Hah, but trust, as a verb, is transitive.
So let's see what COULD you trust, if you did:
- 1. trust in yourself... aka self-trust.Trusting that what comes out of your mouth is the truth
Trusting that you can
Trusting that you will
Trusting that your "beliefs" are accurate
Trusting that you can meet your own expectations of yourself
Trusting that you can meet other people's expectations
and probably a lot more. We'll talk about "beliefs" that everyone seems to know what they mean, except me... I have no idea what they mean... and neither do you. Not here, not now. At some other time.
The more you are a scoundrel, a stinker, a liar, a cheater, the less you trust yourself.

This is a brilliant article... except one thing: I see this same thing across the board, across all ages. 20 to 70...
So this article is probably written about you, accurately, if you are not happy when you are not happy.
Why Generation Y Yuppies, and you! Are Unhappy
Say hi to Lucy.
Lucy is part of Generation Y, the generation born between the late 1970s and the mid 1990s. She’s also part of a yuppie culture that makes up a large portion of Gen Y.
I have a term for yuppies in the Gen Y age group—I call them Gen Y Protagonists & Special Yuppies, or GYPSYs. A GYPSY is a unique brand of yuppie, one who thinks they are the main character of a very special story.
So Lucy’s enjoying her GYPSY life, and she’s very pleased to be Lucy. Only issue is this one thing:
Lucy’s kind of unhappy.
To get to the bottom of why, we need to define what makes someone happy or unhappy in the first place.

Fear is an issue. It's universal. You have it, I have it. You have to have it. It is the 200,000 year old hardware... where your life was lived out in an environment where everything was a threat to your survival.
Today's fears are the same, except today the threats to your survival are missing... and yet, the fears continue.
Your path to the next level of evolution, Human Being, is the beingness of fearless... where you consider fear a necessary evil, and you take it with you wherever you go, big and small, safe or dangerous, like you would take a child with you who needs your support.

Some 10-15 years ago there was a blockbuster book, the Bible Code. It was written in the style of a report, but really it was a novel.
Its fundamental issue was the idea that the Bible (The Old Testament) is a code that tells everything about the future, the past and the present.
It used the original Hebrew "version" that is called the authentic "Torah" and it claimed that if you take out all the spaces and punctuation out of the text and make it a string of just characters, it can be used as a code.
The idea is bogus, but us, gullible humans grasping for some meaning in life, for some certainty, it was something to investigate.
Why is the idea bogus? Because for thousands of years the text of the Bible was an oral tradition: it was never written down... and something that passed through so many mouths cannot be considered a reliable foundation for a code by its letters.
